A Guide to Titan Lenses

Single Vision Lens

Corrects one field of vision (near or distance) and is common amongst users under the age of 40.

High Powered Single Vision

Corrects one field of vision (near or distance) but for users with a high power (between -12.00 to +8.75) under the age of 40.

Bifocal Lens

Two powers, each that helps you see distance and near. Lower part of the lens has a clear demarcation to indicate power change.

The lens segment can be of two shapes –

D Bifocal

Kryptoc Bifocal

Progressive Lens

Offers multiple corrections in one lens – distance, computer and reading so you don’t have to switch between multiple pairs. This is common for users aged 40 and above.

Lens Index

Refractive Index decides the thickness of the lens. Especially for high powers, higher refractive indices are used to make the lens thinner.

CR-39 (1.49)

Standard thickness with highest optical clarity that works best for low-powered prescriptions (Power Range – Below 3.00 D)

1.56

Standard thickness, scratch resistant lens material that works best for low powered prescriptions (Power Range – Below 3.00 D)

Polycarbonate (1.6)

20% thinner than Standard Lens, Shatter Resistant, 100% UV Protection, Ideal for rimless frames (Power Range – Below 3.00 D to -5.00 D)

High Index (1.67)

33% thinner than Standard Lens, 100% UV Protection, Good for Rimless Frames, Suitable for high powers (Power Range above -5.00 D)

Very High Index (1.74)

45% thinner than standard lens. It is the thinnest lens material that comes with full UV Protection. Suitable for specialized high powers.

Lens Coatings

Basic Coating

In-built scratch resistant coating making it durable for everyday wear.

Anti-Reflective Coating

Reduces glare allowing 99.2% light transmission, along with an in-built scratch resistant coating

Tech Lens

Protects your eyes from harmful digital rays released from gadgets and reduces glare, allowing 99.2% light transmission and in-built scratch resistant coating.

Advantage Coating

Just as the name suggests, the coating comes with many advantages-

  • Dust Repellent, keeps lenses dust-free
  • Water Repellent, hydrophobicity keeps lenses clear from water-stains
  • Smudge & Scratch Resistant for everyday durable wear

Ozone Coating

Comes with 100% UV protection along with other benefits-

  • Blue Coating, helps block harmful blue light from digital screens
  • Dust Repellent, keeps lenses dust-free
  • Water Repellent, hydrophobicity keeps lenses clear from water-stains
  • Smudge & Scratch Resistant for everyday durable wear

Special Add-Ons

Short Corridor

Used when the frame size is smaller than the minimum required size of a progressive design.

Transitions

Lens change tint colour based on the intensity of outdoor light.
Time to darken – Up to 10-seconds

Photochromatic

Lens changes tint colour based on the intensity of outdoor light.
Time to darken – Up to 60-seconds

Fog Free

Prevents certain opaqueness of lens due to fig formation while working in the kitchen, AC Environment, etc. or due to sudden change in moisture level.

Mirror Coating

Mirror coated lens reflects up to 40% of incoming light and therefore reduces glare. Provides a brighter field of vision.
